To use feeling at rest

1. Visual and Mechanical checks
Correcting the problems does not in in itself remove any residues that were the indicators of the problem.

A. Broken Turbine Wheel, locking wheel
Possibility of Insufficient Luburication, Check Oil lubrication line, Replace Oil feed pipe and Union bolt.
B. No problem at wheel spin, but oil leak
A many case of Oil leakage are caused by lubrication probrems. Always inspect and assess turbocharger condition before removal from the engine.Possibility of Oil seal leakage at turbine end of turbocharger will be caused by restricted and sludged turbocharger oil drain line. Excessive piston blowby or high internal crankcase pressure cause turbocharger oil leakage from Compressor and turbine seal.
High crankcase pressure and excessive piston blowby can be ventilated by PCV flow control valves. PCV valves on spark ignition engines must operate as one way check valves when boost is developed. This reverses the direction of flow in the ventilation system. A partially closed PCV allows manifold boost to pressurize the crankcase.
Oily Turbine-out Misty Compressor-in
C. Compressor wheel damage due to a hard object
Possibility of foeign object from air inatake side, Check Air intake system and remove objects before installing a replacement.
D. Turbine wheel damage due to a hard object
Posshibility of foeign object from engine such as Vlave etc.
E. None Lock-nut of Compressor Wheel
* If the trouble were happened with above (A, check Oil lubrication line.
* Remove the Lock-nut from inside of air cleaner or intake pipe. ( In case the turbocharger was failed by same cause, warranty claim is not accepted )
F. Sludged Center housing
* Replace Oil feed pipe and Union bolt.
G. Be sooted visual appearance
*Possibility of exhaust gas leakage, replace gaskets and tighten bolt. This will be a cause of noisy turbo or engine lacks power.

2. Check before turbocharger installation

A. Check of Air cleaner, Objects( Bolt, Nut, Cloth ) in Intake pipe and Exhaust pipe. Check on appearance oily.
B. Check of the dirt of an air cleaner.
C. Check of dirt / clush / object for the Oil pipe ( In Out ).
D. Check of PCV valve movement
E. Check of Engine condition ( See detail of high crankcase pressure and excessive piston blowby can be ventilated )
F. The ball bearing type turbocharger is used for some types of a car (refer to list) of Daihatsu Motor and Honda.
The case where a Remanufacturing turbo is exchanged surely a pipe exchanging and please clean completely an attachment eye bolt and a block oil hole.

3. The check at the time of attachment

A. Please change engine oil. Engine oil should surely use the grade specified by a maker.
B. Before turbo attachment, please pour in engine oil from turbo oil entrance, rotate a wheel with a finger, and oil should spread round a bearing part.
C. Please use a new gasket for a turbo oil entrance and an exit part, and do not use liquid gasket.
D. Be careful enough for garbage not to go into the oil entrance of a turbo, a pipe, and a union bolt.

4. The check after attachment

A. Please do not raise engine rotation rapidly after engine starting. Please hold the idling state for 10 minutes.
B. Without carrying out high-idling, please actually run after engine warmth and check the operation situation of a turbo.
C. Since sludge may flow into a turbo, please do not perform engine Flushing after turbo exchange, and cleaning.

5. Other caution

Oil supply pipe exchange of a turbocharger
The ball bearing type turbocharger is used for some types of a car (refer to list) of Daihatsu Motor and Honda.
Garbage, sludge, etc. are got blocked in the extracted portion to which the engine side oil passage of a turbo oil supply pipe is thinly extracted like the appending photograph by this (0.75mm), and the Shaft discoloration from insufficient lubrication.
The case where a Remanufacturing turbo is exchanged surely a pipe exchanging and please clean completely an attachment eye bolt and a block oil hole.

Type of Car Vehicle Vehicle model Turbo part No.

  Move L602S VQ27AVQ29
  Move L902S VQ37
  Opty L802S VQ37
Honda Z GF-PA1 VG05

6. It is not the fault of a turbo Falure

A. Clearance of the shaft before turbo attachment
Clearance of a shaft is felt large when the oil of a bearing part has run out. It will become normal clearance if surroundings oil pressure requires oil. The TTS turbos are passing at 100,000 RPM spin tests.
B. White smoke immediately after turbo attachment
As for the supplied turbo, oil etc. has adhered. Although white smoke may come out for a while after attachment, if it actually runs and heat joins a turbo, oil will burn and stop.
